HMMM. I tend to get really excited about art books and buy them and then… never actually have time to look at them, haha. I can dig through my stack later and post a few of the ones I think could be helpful. One day I will use them. One day.
What I generally find works best for me, though, is looking at other artists’ work. Like how they color? Use textures? Draw noses? Try it for yourself! There’s no shame in emulating bits and pieces of another artist’s style, as long as you aren’t blatantly copying them. I’m always picking up new tips/techniques just by going through my Dash. Just don’t fall into the “wow this person is so cool I will never be as good as them boohoohoo” rut. Like I do. Frequently.
